This is our flagship Crash Course experience: a hands-on filmmaking program where students take on real creative roles and produce something tangible every session. Across 10 weeks, participants build skills, collaborate as a crew, and finish the term with a completed short film or polished scene.

  • Session Output: Single Sketches, Short Film (2-5 minutes)

  • Location: Launceston Conference Centre

  • When: Wednesdays, 4:00pm - 5:00pm

    • Week 1: Introduction to Filmmaking Roles & Basic Camera Techniques

    • Week 2: Directing & Acting for Camera (Blocking, Performance, Delivery)

    • Week 3: Sound, Lighting & Basic Cinematography

    • Week 4: Shooting & Editing a Short Dialogue Scene

    • Week 5: Action Sequences & Visual Storytelling

    • Week 6: Genre Exploration (Comedy, Horror, Drama)

    • Week 7: Pre-Production (Casting, Shot Lists, Rehearsals)

    • Week 8: Principal Photography (Filming)
